This is what we call a "coffeehouse" club.   This is a very relaxed atmosphere. There's lots of socialization and eating going on here.   The club is highlighted by the famous player International Master Michael Brooks.   For those of you that don't know him, he was at a time back in the mid 80's to early 90's one of the premier players in this country and of course in the Midwest especially.   He broke into the top 10 in the rankings with a rating of about 2620 USCF.   Michael is considered one of the best American born and raised players ever.   IM Brooks is also the chief organizer of the club.

The club has made its way back over to the Westport Flea Market after a year's stint over at Uno's on the Plaza.  The Westport Flea Market's address is 817 Westport Road, Kansas City, MO 64111 MAP   This club meets every Tuesday from 6:30-11:00 PM, but not if there is a holiday close to the day or extreme inclement weather (snow or ice).   Sorry, there is nobody you can contact from this club about more information.   This is a really great atmosphere if you want some casual games.   There are some very strong players that frequent this club.   Kids are definitely welcome up until about 9 PM.   Look forward to seeing you there.
